The chulu west climb is an exhilarating 17 days journey through the heart of Nepal’s Annapurna region. This trek is designed for trekkers with an interest in high altitude mountaineering offering a combination of rugged landscapes cultural experiences and challenging summits. The trek starts and ends in Kathmandu. The trekkers are driven to syange to begin the trek following the classic Annapurna circuit through picturesque villages, lush valleys and dramatic landscapes.

Throughout the trek trekkers will pass through charming villages like Dharapani, chame, pisang and manang where they will experience the unique culture of the Gurung, Thakali and Manangi communities. The trek gradually ascends and acclimatization  days are built into the schedule to allow trekkers to adjust to the altitude. Manang is the critical stop providing an important acclimatization day, which helps reduce the risks associated with high altitude trekking.

The trek continues to Ledar and eventually reaches chulu west base camp. Here, trekkers spend another acclimatization day for further preparation including pre- climbing training. After acclimatizing at the base camp, trekkers advances to chulu west high camp for the summit attempt. On summit day trekkers ascend to the peak of chulu west where they are rewarded with panoramic views of iconic peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and other Himalayan giants. The descent back to base camp is equally challenging and trekkers make their way down to Thorong phedi.

One of the highlights of this trek is crossing the Thorang La pass one of the highest trekking passes. This dramatic pass offers unmatched views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After crossing the pass trekkers descend to the sacred site Muktinath, a popular pilgrimage destination for hindus and Buddhists.
